Oh man, was this a fun one–
Though through the COVID pandemic, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Universal Orlando Resort™'s annual Halloween Horror Nights™ (2021) this mobile game, featuring the iconic murderous clown, Jack Schmidt, Jack's Scattered Past was a digital scavenger hunt throughout the park starring Jack the Clown himself.
The game, which randomly selected one of three unique “storylines” would randomly select clue locations, so guests didn't run into each other throughout the night. We had the opportunity to collaborate directly with the Universal Entertainment Team behind the screams of Halloween Horror Nights™ and hide trinkets in the facades of Universal Studios Florida™ including QR code clues, and few gory surprises…
The game also included interstitial exclusive videos of Jack the Clown taunting players and introducing challenges as they played. Rick Spencer and I wrote the script and treatments for the game, as well as designing, and hand-crafting all of the props hidden in the windows.
I worked on this project as part of the brilliant team at X Studios™.
